Description

We eventually decided to call this image New Beginnings for a few reasons. Firstly, it's the first official first light with our Mewlon 250 CRS & QHY600 setup. After years of working with an ASI094 OSC it's nice to be able to work with narrowband data again.

From a more scientific standpoint, NGC 2070 is a new beginning. At its heard is R136, a 1-2 million year old star cluster that is believed to be the first of several waves of star formation that will occur within this region with several more expected in time. Eventually this region is expected to become a new globular cluster which is a bit of a novel thing in this time within the cosmic timeline.
